This technical service follows the specification being developed by the IHO S-122 project team for Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
The service uses the data-model from the S-122 product specification.
It supports the dissemination of spatial and regulatory information about MPAs to end-users, enabling improved voyage planning, compliance, and awareness of environmental restrictions.
At a later stage, it is envisioned that this service could be extended with additional contextual layers (e.g., species distribution, seasonal restrictions) to enhance decision-support capabilities.
